POEMS The seasons.
WINTER 2022
I’ve spoken about the winter.
How it embraces me. The cool freezing cuts of it make me feel warm.
Winter cold is what I truly may be deep down inside.
I recently had a dream that it was snowing and I knew.
That feeling will never go away.
I knew.
Some seek the warm embrace of a loved one.
I never seem to get that warmth from anyone.
The cold has always kept me company.
Standing there - legs, arms, feet, hands, and face exposed to the coldest winter day yet the warmest I felt all year.
It’s when I feel at my most powerful.
WHAT SHE WANTS
The flowers to bloom
The leaves to fall
The cold to freeze
The smiles and florescent colors
In the background
Making everything shine
The crispy noise
When taking a walk
The humid mist set like silk over her cheekbones and shoulders
Knowing she’s not the one to fall
Feeling the cold in her lungs
But the warmth around
The still of time as flakes drop
She’s not alone - never was.
INSIDE BUT LOOKING OUT
The soul is free to roam
It leaves but is always there
The body rests but the fire within
Is so much more
A homebody, but is always out
Craving life
While living life
It always ends in August - For she is new again in November.
BREAKING RECORD
And just like the snow in Colorado in 2021
Breaking record
The hesitation
His hesitation
Yet again
Breaking record
I’ll seek the cold’s comfort
But what happens when they are both the same one?
